"COMMUNICATING WITH COMPASSION"

Training by Teleconference - On-site Workshops Conferences/Retreats

Did you think you were listening but later found out you did not hear the full story?

Has your spouse, your child, or a co-workers said, "You don't understand"?

Have you been frustrated with trying to help someone but it seemed to go nowhere?

Do people feel criticized or shamed by your responses?

Truly good listening is a gift of compassion. There is a skill to listening that goes beyond being caring or nice, and allows another to be truly heard.

"Communicating with Compassion" courses teach you empathic, dignity-affirming listening, introducing six listening skills including the skill of "tracking."

"For the first time in 25 years, I had a deep conversation with my sister-in-law."                                              --David G., Waltham, MA

"Communicating with Compassion" teaches the art of giving effective, shame-free advice and feedback, and offers skills in affirming the dignity of the other.

"Giving good advice is a great gift. Yet, we sometimes run into trouble because of the way we offer it. The ability to give advice in a positive, constructive way is an art. Here are four points to help us offer advice with effectiveness and compassion. Listen first, ask permission, offer without insisting, and check for resonance."                                  ---Uzi Weingarten, from session 7
